A fourth-century Egyptian gold earring, it had recently been featured in a television program. Police subsequently arrest the thief, Thomas Gezork of Newton, who reveals that the earring is buried in a Campbell soup can somewhere in the Fens. Florence Wolksy, a Boston University archeology student, digs for the ring, and discovers it on April 16, 1964.
